FLOP d’ OR: The six nominees With Zero Vote at Ballon d’Or awards
At the 2022 Ballon d‘Or honours, no votes were cast for Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez and five other players.
Karim Benzema rightly won the golden prize at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris for his great season with Real Madrid, which came as no surprise to anyone. The 2021-22 season marked the first time a Ballon d’Or has been awarded on the basis of a single season, with votes cast by sports journalists from around the globe and the captains and coaches of international teams under FIFA’s control.Infomation Guide Nigeria

Even though he defeated defending champion Lionel Messi, who was not even nominated this year, Nunez’s campaign failed to impress voters.

Nunez was one of the thirty nominees who advanced to the evening of the prestigious ceremony. A few hours prior to the beginning of the event, it was revealed that the 23-year-old had tied for last place with a number of well-known contestants who had not received a single vote.
Joao Cancelo of Manchester City and Antonio Rudiger of Real Madrid, formerly of Chelsea, were among the six. Christopher Nkunku, Joshua Kimmich, and AC Milan goalie Mike Maignan all met the same end.Jamb Result
Nunez may be proud of the fact that he was the only Uruguayan player to finish in the top 30, as he is projected to do great things during his bright career. However, his lacklustre debut at Anfield has cast doubt on his Premier League viability.
