Gunmen attack church in Kogi, kill two, injure others

Unknown gunmen stormed a Celestial Church in Felele, Lokoja, Kogi State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the wounding of three more.Infomation Guide Nigeria

The event occurred late Sunday evening behind the NNPC Mega station in Felele, as reported by DAILY POST.

Our correspondent was told by an eyewitness that the shooters rushed the chapel and began firing randomly.

In addition, it was discovered that two persons perished instantaneously while others fled to safety.

The injured victims are being treated at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lokoja.

Monday morning, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, William Ovye Aya, verified the event to DAILY POST.

According to him, thugs infiltrated the church and opened fire on congregants.

“It was a distress call that the Divisional Police Officer of B Division Felele received that hoodlums invaded a Celestial Church behind NNPC mega station and they began shooting.

“Two people were confirmed dead in the hospital, while three are receiving treatment. Jamb Result 

The Commissioner of Police has deployed our operatives, and ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigation, to commence investigation to unravel the cause of the attack with a view to arrest the perpetuators,” he said.
