Gunmen kidnap Plateau politician’s brother, demand N100m ransom

During an attack in the Rin village, in the Quaapan Local Government Area of the state, on Saturday, gunmen abducted one Nengak, the older brother of Kefas Ropshak, a candidate for governor of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State.

Residents of the neighbourhood who confirmed the news to our correspondent claimed that Nengak’s kidnappers had contacted his family members and demanded a N100m ransom for their release.Information Guide Nigeria

John Akans, the state publicity secretary for the PDP, demanded that the government cease the recent wave of kidnapping in the state after Nengak’s kidnapping was confirmed in a statement.

The statement read in part, “Plateau State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party received the news of the abduction of Chief Nengak Ropshak, the Rin Ngas Quanpan Local Government, with sadness.

“Chief Nengak is the elder brother of His Excellency Chief Kefas Ropshak, aka Kefiano, a 2023 Governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party.
