Staff members at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo State, organized a protest on Wednesday over the non-payment of their salaries and allowances for the past 10 months. During the demonstration, the aggrieved employees blocked the main entrance of the institution. Holding leaves and chanting various solidarity songs, they expressed their discontentment towards both the polytechnic’s administration and the state government. He pointed out that these financial inconsistencies have led to the untimely deaths of several polytechnic workers.
