What is the NYSC Discharge Certificate?

The NYSC discharge certificate is a certificate given to Nigerian graduates who have successfully completed their national service. The certificate shows that the person whose name is written on it has duly served the country and is eligible for employment.

To be eligible for the NYSC discharge certificate, you must have completed your tertiary education, and applied for the NYSC program before the age of 30. Nigerian graduates above the age of 30 will be exempted from the national service, and issued a certificate of exemption. This certificate can be used in place of the NYSC discharge certificate.

How to Obtain the NYSC Discharge Certificate

Nigerian graduates who studied within the country will have to wait for their tertiary institution to send their details to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). After which the candidate will be required to register for NYSC program online. Those who registered successfully will then be mobilised and issued a green card and a call-up letter.WAEC result

After obtaining your green card and call-up letter, you are expected to report to the NYSC camp for a three weeks orientation camp. After undergoing camp orientation and training, you will be sent to your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) where you will serve your country for the next 11 months. Nigerian graduates who had their tertiary education in a foreign institution will have to visit the National Youth Service Corps office with their documents in other to register for the NYSC program. The NYSC mobilization department will then notify those who are eligible for mobilization. Once you have been notified, you will be required to register for the NYSC program online, and upload your documents on the portal.JAMB form

After completing the registration process, you can proceed to print the NYSC green card, and call-up letter. Now head to the NYSC camp indicated in your call-up letter to begin your national service.
