A former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been declared winner of the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial election by INEC.Information Guide Nigeria
According to to LEGIT.NG, Senator Akpabio polled a total of 115,401 votes to defeat Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 69,838 votes.

DAILY POST reports that the result was confirmed by the returning officer for the senatorial district, Professor Anthony Udoh.
