NBA: We’ll Prosecute Lawyers For Looting Conference Materials

The president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata, says lawyers found culpable in the recent vandalisation of the conference materials collection centre will be prosecuted. THE CABLE reports.

Recall that some lawyers went on a rampage in Lagos on Tuesday over the distribution of bags at the annual general conference of the NBA. Information Guide Nigeria

The Technical Committee on Conference Planning (TCCP) of the NBA had earlier sent out emails informing lawyers that distribution of conference materials would be suspended owing to substandard materials supplied. jamb results

However, in a video circulating on social media, lawyers were seen destroying registration booths and looting other conference materials.

Speaking on the matter during the conference session on Thursday, Akpata said anyone found complicit will face the consequences.

“I hereby assure the generality of Nigerian legal practitioners that any lawyer found complicit in the vandalisation of conference booths, theft of phones, assault on officials will be prosecuted,” he said.

“No one said we will not encounter difficulties in life but the hallmark is how quickly we resolve such difficulties,” he said.
