Nigerian Govt Spends Billions To Fight Poverty – Ngige

The Federal Government of Nigeria, is investing billions in social protection to fight poverty in Nigeria.Information Guide Nigeria

DAILY POST reports that this was revealed by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige at the 2022 World Day Against Child Labour on Thursday in Abuja.

Ngige said the government was taking care of citizens despite the country’s dwindling revenue.

According to DAILY POST, the minister emphasized that poverty was fueling child labour and added that good policies would reverse the trend.

NAN reports that he said, “Children are endangered. That is why the government, the ILO and other stakeholders have been working assiduously.”

Ngige said the National Children School Feeding Programme (NCSFP) targets an increase in children’s school enrollment.

According to him, the policy will ensure children are fed with nutritious food, while farmers, traders and cooks make money.Jamb Result

As reported by DAILY POST, Ngige said that poverty is being tackled in the country through the conditional cash transfer programme, Trader Moni and N-power.
