Police arrest two ex-convicts over robbery allegation in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has successfully apprehended two former convicts in the Elelenwo community, within the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, on charges of alleged armed robbery.JAMB Result

This development was disclosed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Iringe-Koko reported that these suspects, along with other gang members who are currently at large, have been a source of terror for the Elelenwo community for several years. Their activities have reportedly involved several deadly attacks on the residents, which had placed them on the police watch list due to numerous complaints from the community.JAMB Portal

The latest incident leading to their arrest occurred on December 1, when a community member reported being robbed of his valuables by the gang. In response to this and previous complaints, the police intensified their efforts in the community by conducting stop-and-search operations, enhancing surveillance, and maintaining regular patrols.

These strategic measures by the police ultimately led to the apprehension of the two suspects, marking a significant step in curbing the activities of criminal elements in the Elelenwo community.
