According to THE NATION, the APC chieftains, in a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari; Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning committee (CECPC), Mai Mala Buni; Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), Abubakar Bagudu, and other leaders and stakeholders of the party, said they were not part of the decision to cede the seat to Borno State.
The aggrieved party chieftains include former governors, former deputy governors, three serving senators, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, eight serving members of the House, and 17 House of Assembly members. jamb results
The stalwarts argued that it was wrong for Borno State to be placed ahead of Bauchi, renowned as the traditional base of the APC in the Northeast.
