Here we want to look at different brands of paint and their prices in Nigeria.
Different paint come with different quality and prices but get it right, the price does not necessarily determine the quality.
You may have some products coming at chip rate but have a high quality and you can equally have a product being sold at a very high rate but the quality is quite low.
Paints are roughly categorized into three in Nigeria. Top quality is Dulux, Berger comes second, Meyer & IPWA comes in third place with some notable distance.
Medium Category is President, Eagle, Portland or sandtex as its popularly called, but Eagle seems to be the stand out product in this very category.
Basic quality is Finecoat, Prestige, Precious, Value. There are no clear leaders in this category apparently.
Also, Dulux, Berger and Portland have imported variants. You certainly have no business with these unless you are building in Banana Island or working on your own property.
Always be educated about the use of Products called Silk or Satin. they have specific use.

For commercial Buildings, we will recommend Basic quality for interiors, Medium or High quality for exteriors which you where people will see first and equally vulnerable to damage.
But in case of a developer, you have little control over how your clients will treat their flats. But you can extend the lifespan of the paintwork outside by painting with quality products.
This also keeps your building at top value when new tenants are considering the property. There are other practices to be carried out in the public areas, on the baseline that accentuate and improve the quality of finish.
