6. Rise In Religious Extremism:

The rise in religious extremism is exacerbating Christian-Muslim tension in the country, and as a result, the introduction of al-Qaeda-style violent extremists to the mostly-Muslim north.

The ongoing terrorist movement in Nigeria has brought about economic malaise hence, made worse the country, leaving those lower class citizens in poverty, while the educated one, the supposed middle-classes are left under-employed.

The country is in crisis, somebody has likened Nigeria to a person on an aircraft that is taken over by some hijackers.

In such situation, as a person, you would not want to compromise with these hoodlums, rather your primary concern will be to land the aircraft, therefore, at this point, even Nigerian leaders have no choice but they gave in. It is unfortunate!

7. Tension Of Alternating Presidency In Nigeria:

There is tension caused by the idea of alternating presidency in the country. This arrangement is seemingly causing trouble in Nigeria.

For instance, when a northerner is in power, the eastherners will outraged, and will be saying that they are being cheated from the control of the presidency.

  1. I agree with you, must of these factors contributes to the down fall of Nigeria. But we must all know that an “hungry man is an angry man”. If the government can feed its nation first though embarking on full agriculture, other things will start to fall in places.
This was not how Nigeria was in the 60’s & 70’s, the economy was far better off. Oil only make us lazy.
