‘Welu Welu’

With this classic song performed in pidgin, Okposo made his groundbreaking debut in the music industry, capturing the attention of many.

With the catchy refrain “Jesus, I thank you, wellu wellu,” the song has maintained its popularity with the gospel audience twenty years after its initial publication.

This song is the opening tune from his 2000 debut album named “Unconditional Love.”

Another popular single from his ‘Unconditional Love’ album, Jump and Shout is partly rendered in the Ghanaian Twi language.

‘Naija Praise’

The album is a popular compilation of praise songs from various regions of the country.

It was released as the ninth track on his second studio album, “Addicted,” in 2004.

‘Jehovah Idi Ebube’

This song was performed in both English and Igbo, and it was another solemn track by the vocalist.

The song with the title “Jehovah is wonderful” is the sixteenth track on his 2012 album The Statement.

‘Baba Ye’

Sammie Okposo’s songs have always reflected his Nigerian heritage, despite his largely international reputation.

Okposo departed from his Delta roots for ‘Baba Ye,’ collaborating with Mike Aremu to create a Yoruba-language rendition.
