University of Calabar Professor Abducted by Gunmen

Prof. Patrick Egaga, the Director of Servicom at the University of Calabar and a professor in the Department of Special Education, was abducted from his residence at the university staff quarters on Sunday night. The unfortunate incident has been confirmed by the Cross River Police Command.InformationGuideNigeria

SP Irene Ugbo, the spokesperson for the police command, informed the media in Calabar on Monday about the abduction. Despite the family not reporting the incident, Ugbo assured that efforts are underway to ensure Prof. Egaga’s safe release.NYSC Portal

The university’s spokesperson, Mr. Effiong Eyo, also confirmed learning about the abduction on Monday morning. Reports indicate that the gunmen abducted Prof. Egaga using a river route that overlooks the university’s staff quarters.
