Governorship Election Date: 11th March 2023

House of Representative Election Date: 25th February 2023

Senatorial Election Date: 25th February 2023

Presidential Election Date: 25th February 2023

According to INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, Presidential and National Assembly elections would hold on February 25, 2023, while governorship and State Assembly elections will now be held on March 11, 2023.

How to Vote in the 2023 General Election

Follow the official INEC Voting Procedure 2023 to see the procedure on how to vote in the forthcoming 2023 General Election.

This is the official Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voting procedure for the forthcoming elections in February and March 2023. The 2023 voting procedure was released in a post on the Commission’s verified Twitter handle on Sunday. The procedure is as follows;

1. Voting starts by 8.30am

2. Present your PVC for accreditation using BVAS

3. Check and confirm your name on the voters register in that polling unit.

4. Get authenticated with the BVAS through the fingerprint of facials.

5. Once accreditated, you will be issued a ballot paper

6. Go to the voting cubicle to make your choice in secret and drop the marked ballot paper in the ballot box

7. You can always leave or stay 300meters away from the voting area to witness vote sorting and counting.

According to INEC, voting begins at 8:30 a.m., with voters presenting their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, for accreditation via BVAS.

The statement also stated that voters would be permitted to leave or remain 300 meters away to observe the sorting and counting of votes.
