We’re not informed of any apology from UK govt – LP

Labour Party media office has said that the British government had not apologised to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi.Information Guide Nigeria

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the Obi-Datti media office are requesting for an apology over Peter Obi’s harassment and detention at Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom.

Mr Onifade disclosed that Peter Obi was harassed and detained by immigration officers at the airport for a duplication offence, which suggests that someone has been impersonating Mr Obi in London.

However, in another statement on Thursday, Mr Onifade said contrary to social media reports, Mr. Obi is not aware of any apology purportedly issued by the British Government or any of its agencies.NYSC Portal

“We would like to state emphatically that we are not aware of any such apology, and have not issued any statement whatsoever, in that regard.”

Expressing confidence in the ability of the British authorities to resolve the matter, Mr Onifade said the party is currently focused on the legal process before the presidential election petition tribunal.JAMB Result

Mr Onifade: “Mr Peter Obi and the LP/PCC have since moved on from the incident and continue to be totally focused, on the legal processes before the Election Petition Tribunal towards the recovery of our mandate, which we are firmly convinced, was overwhelmingly expressed by voters, in the presidential election of February 25th.
