Why I quit lecturing for skit making – ZicSaloma
Isaac Aloma, popularly known as ZicSaloma, a well-known skit maker has shared in a recent podcast interview with actress Iyabo Ojo that he previously worked as a lecturer at Kaduna Polytechnic. He revealed that he left the lecturing position to focus on skit making, citing the poor salary as a major reason for his career shift.
Aloma highlighted his determination to succeed, mentioning that he started his master’s programme concurrently with his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) duties. He was retained as a lecturer at Kaduna Polytechnic after completing his NYSC.JAMB Portal

During his time as a lecturer, Aloma continued to pursue his passion for performing arts. He auditioned for singing competitions and even participated in an edition of The Voice Nigeria. He described his journey into skit-making as “unplanned” and recounted how he initially struggled for three years in the field before finally gaining popularity.InformationGuideNigeria
Aloma said, “I started making skits unplanned. It wasn’t something I took seriously but it was gaining traction. At first, I was posting my skits on Facebook, and my Facebook friends seemed to like it. They encouraged me to do more. I just kept doing it. I did it for like three years.
