2023: Elections Not Worth Our Peace, Blood – Akwa Ibom Governor
Mr Udom Emmanuel, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has said that no politician’s ambition is worth the peace presently enjoyed in the state adding that politicians should choose peace over violence as the 2023 elections approached.

According to INDEPENDENT, in his Easter message broadcast to the state in Uyo on Sunday, Emmanuel pledged that the state would not return to the years when kidnapping and politically motivated killings queried the primary purpose of government.
He urged Akwa Ibom people to forsake hatred, ethnicity, anger, and divisive tendencies.
The Governor advised the people to focus on love of God for man, even as political tension mounts in the state and the cracks in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) party widens. In his words: “Akwa Ibom has in the past seven years remained an oasis of peace and tranquility, and on this I salute our resourceful youths, who have decided to maintain the peace and invest in the future that is about to dawn – a future of plenty, a future of fulfilment and a future of growth and development”.
