Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA) is a nonprofit and non-political rights-based organization registered in 2016 with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as a local content hub aimed at facilitating evidence-based grassroots initiatives and actions that promote development, justice and victims support in the communities. Our mission is to be an active grassroots mobilizer towards improving the total quality of human life and social justice in Nigeria. Our programmes are spread across Climate Change, Conflict, Security and Justice, Social Economic Development and Governance.
We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) State Project Coordinator (SPC)
Location: Borno
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- University Degree in relevant field
- At least 5 years of work experience in peacebuilding, transitional justice, democratic governance or similar field. Experience with an international NGO would be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience working in northern Nigeria.
- Experience working on youth engagement interventions.
- Experience working in a trauma-informed manner with vulnerable populations, such as with SGBV survivors is considered an asset.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a high-risk security environment.
- High moral integrity.
- English (oral and written), and Hausa fluency. Knowledge of any other languages prevalent in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe would be an advantage.

2.) Consortium Project Manager (CPM)
Location: Borno, Yobe or Adamawa
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Developmental Studies or a comparable field is required.
- At least 6 years of NGOs program and project management experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in consortium project management.
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of peacebuilding, transitional justice, and democratic government in northern Nigeria.
- Solid understanding of humanitarian ideals and the NGO code of conduct, as well as expertise managing big and complex project finances.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to work in multiple places. Perfect for youth engagement programs, with a thorough awareness of trauma-informed practices.
- Patience, awareness of one’s own strengths and shortcomings, proactive use of feedback and self-development when working under pressure and in a high-risk security environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities, as well as advanced technological knowledge.Any additional Adamawa, Borno, or Yobe languages would be advantageous.

3.) Communications Officer
Location: Borno
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree (minimum), or a Master’s Degree (desirable), in Information Technology or relevant subject, preferably with specialisation in Communication.
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience with at least 3 years of experience in Information Technology.
- Experience in using modern communication tools, systems and technology.
- Demonstrable experience of designing Communication tools, media and engagement.
- Proficiency in photography and video editing software and tools.
