We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Project Manager, Academics

Location: Lagos

Academics

  • The objective of Academics is to drive student achievement. To do so, we must know – what is happening minute-by-minute for the typical child.
  • The student’s daily experience, and thus the path to achievement, emerges from their relationship with the teachers and the content that is delivered in the classroom.
  • Our team is collaboratively organized around these levers. We develop rigorous content pitched at the right level for students to be delivered by a teacher who is prepared to succeed in the classroom.
  • Our Instructional Design department builds the content; our Leadership & Development department trains teachers and school leaders using scientifically-proven techniques; our Learning Innovation department looks at cutting-edge research to generate breakthrough learning gains.
  • Underpinning all of this is the work of the independent Measurement and Evaluation group, which provides Academics with an empirical orientation toward improving that daily experience and, in turn, driving achievement.

About the Role

  • The Project Manager, Academics is at the center of all academic operations across all programs.
  • The work of the Academics team in the program must be tightly coordinated on a daily basis with a long term plan.
  • A project manager is needed to ensure that this work is coordinated on the ground through the Academic Director and well communicated and timely within support offices in multiple locations across the globe.
  • There are many competing priorities that exist with a program that keeps an Academic Director from delivering on academic planning.
  • The Project Manager exists to ensure that the Academic Director is delivering on their core work.
  • If a last minute meeting is scheduled but an Academic Director has a deadline, the Project Manager must work with the Academic Director to come up with a solution to ensure the deadline is not missed or a thorough communication plan is implemented.
  • The work of NewGlobe Academics is consistent across all programs. The Project Manager is needed to ensure that cross program learnings and operations are established to ensure the most efficient operations.
  • If one program notices a problem with a process and a solution is found, the Project Manager must ensure that all programs implement this process.
  • The Project Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Academics, the Project Manager, Academics will support Academics Directors and Regional Directors on projects across all programs NewGlobe operates in.
  • The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of academic planning across academic offerings, assessment reviews, innovation projects and all matters pertaining to academic work.
  • Maintenance of systems that support academic planning will be a focus of the Project Managers work and will require cross departmental engagement.
  • The Project Manager should be a key resource for all stakeholders to reference when trying to understand all matters pertaining to Academics.

What you will do

  • Track predetermined milestones and deliverables across multiple programs

  • Create and collaborate in troubleshooting plans across multiple departments

You are also:

  • A detailed doer – You have a track record of getting things done. You’re organized and responsive. You take ownership of every idea you touch and execute it to a fine level of detail, setting targets, engaging others, and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. You can multi-task dozens of such projects at once and never lose sight of the details. Likely, you have some experience in a start-up or other rapid-growth company.

  • A relentless advocate – The children we serve and teachers we empower never leave your mind. You know them, get them, have shared a meal with them (or would be happy to in the future). You would never shrink back from shaking a parent’s hand or picking up a crying child, no matter what the person was wearing or looked like. Every decision you make considers their benefit, experience, and value.
