BlackBerry Priv Reviews

Let’s take a closer look at the features of this phone and consider if the price is okay as compared with the specifications.

1. Snapdragon 808, power and reliability

Just like the LG G4 and the LG Nexus 5X, BlackBerry Priv features a Snapdragon processor 808. A hexa-core chip based on a 64-bit instruction set whose performance is almost leveled with those of the Snapdragon 810 without overheatiion problems we know it. By choosing a Snapdragon 808, Blackberry limit risk-taking, while offering its first Android smartphone enough power to compete with the current competition. Soc comes with 3 GB of RAM, the minimum for a high end of 2015. There is also 32GB of native storage, expandable via micro SD.

2. A curved screen as the Galaxy S6 Edge

As already showed the first photos stolen before official visuals will make their arrival, the BlackBerry Priv screen will be slightly curved on the side edges. Not as much as the Galaxy S6 Edge  Moreover, as most manufacturers this year, the company will see the big picture by offering a screen size of 5.4 inches with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Again, one might say that a Full HD screen would have been ample but we must keep in mind that the challenge is daunting and that BlackBerry has no right to miss with its first flagship Android.

3. A 18 megapixel camera sensor with OIS optical stabilization

On the back of the BlackBerry Priv include a photo sensor of 18 megapixels with dual LED flash and iOS optical stabilization.

Note however that the number of Megapixels is not everything. In addition, although most manufacturers now offer in the market. This technology remains absent from the Z5 and Sony Xperia Nexus 6P which respectively rank first and third in the ranking of the best market picture sensors. On the front, it will take a photo sensor 2 Megapixels for selfies.

4. An outstanding software support

In addition to a version of Android optimized and improved, the BlackBerry Priv enjoys an outstanding software support. Barely a month after its release, the phone already received its first update had just improve the quality of the camera and the overall performance of the phone, not to mention the latest Google security patches.

When the unit made its arrival in November, BlackBerry pledged to update it every month. He thus receives the latest updates to Google as soon as they are available. It is distributed OTA on nude models and at retailers and operators are being engaged in the update process. In addition, in an emergency, knowing that some security flaws can not wait for the next months, the Canadian company also plans to deploy hot, very fast updates that will be available on all device variants .
