Is Buju a Yoruba?
Buju, a Nigerian performer, was raised in Gbagada before his family eventually relocated to Ogun State. His early years were rather conventional, and he had developed an interest in music since he was a little child.
Tragically, his mother passed away from cancer. She taught his son Yoruba before she passed away, which aided in his language acquisition. He is not a Yoruba, though.
Buju’s rise to prominence in Nigeria
When Buju was a junior in high school, he first began to compose music. He used to go by the moniker Drizzle but later adopted the stage name Buju.
He began rapping and eventually joined the choir. At valedictory services, he started out solo, and over time, he brought his enthusiasm to the institution.
He stopped playing music for a while because he was constantly comparing himself to other brilliant individuals and thinking that they were superior to him. He developed his look and drew inspiration from J Hus, Burna Boy, Buju Banton, and Damian Marley.NYSC Portal

How did Buju get his name?
He held an IT job when he was still a student, which he detested bitterly. In contrast to the labor he had to do, he believed that creating and playing music was his vocation.
He was influenced by the Jamaican recording artist Buju Banton when he came up with his stage name one day. Through the creation of the acronym Beauty Underneath Just Understood, he gave the word a specific significance.
He then made the decision to pursue music. He released his debut album, “Catch a Vibe,” in February 2018. His second album, “A Day in Lagos,” had a song video that was shot on a boat.
This original decision was made entirely on the spur of the moment by Buju and his team while they were out on a canoe expedition. The musician characterizes his style as an afro-fusion expression. He believes Burna Boy to be the most varied musician he has encountered.105 Good Morning My Love Messages

Buju’s latest news
The Afropop artist revealed in November 2021 that he has declined to extend his contract with Burna Boy’s Spaceship Collective. Before he released the Lenu remix with Burna Boy in 2020, he had already been contracted to a record company. He acknowledged that Burna Boy had approved of his choice.
Because he wants to proceed in a different way, he chose not to extend his contract with Spaceship Collective. He stated in an interview
I’ve seen how things operate there, and they don’t always go with me. When affiliation benefits you, it’s terrific. Burna encouraged me to proceed when I said that I wanted to go it alone and make him proud. Buju is one of Nigeria’s newest musical performers and a viral sensation. Despite his youth, he has the potential to become one of Nigeria’s most considerable talents.
