The petition, dated July 6, was signed by the state chairman, Maman Damisa, alongside 20 officials of the State Working Committee.
But sources said the fresh election is being conducted to pave way for a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Idris Mohammed-Malagi, to clinch the NNPP ticket.
Mr Malagi, who was aggrieved after losing the APC ticket to Umar Bago, was reported to be holding nocturnal meetings with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and the NNPP.
