Demolition: 19 protesters arrested in Abuja

In a recent operation, a Joint Task Force team of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) focusing on City Sanitation arrested 19 individuals during a protest at the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) in Wuse, Abuja.informationguidenigeria

The protesters, including the 19 arrested individuals and several others, had gathered at the premises of the AMMC to express their opposition to the demolition of a mechanic village in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This demolition was carried out by officials from the AMMC’s Department of Development Control.NYSC Portal

Mr. Mukhtar Galadima, the Director of the Department of Development Control, provided insights to journalists after the incident. He explained that the employees in the building were performing their regular duties when the protesters arrived and caused a disturbance.

The 19 protesters were apprehended on charges of violently disrupting the peace in the area.
