In a statement on Monday, signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari had forwarded the name of Muhammad Lamido to the Senate asking that Lamido be confirmed in an “expeditious manner.” Information Guide Nigeria

It read in part, “President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded the name of Muhammad Sabo Lamido to the Senate as Executive Commissioner, Finance and Accounts, for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
“In a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, the President said Lamido was being nominated due to the death of Hassan Gambo, who occupied the position until his demise.”
