Golden Amanda Brooks was born in San Francisco, California, the United States of America on the 1st of December, 1970. Her parents are Mr. Walter Brooks and Barbara Brooks. Her father is a successful Businessman and her mother a Housewife. She spent her early days with her family in and around different Californian states. She participated in children skating competition and won several trophies while she was still in school. She has always had an interest in ballet and is a good dancer. Gold is a classically trained dancer. She studied and taught Ballet Jazz and Modern Dance. As a course, she studied sociology and literature. She also enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley where she studied and majored in Media Representation of Minorities with a Minor Theatre.
Later, she enrolled in Sarah Lawrence College to further her studies and obtained her Masters degree.
Golden Brooks got married to a popular actor Bryan David Woodside in 2008. Their daughter Dakota was born in 2009.
