Group Begs Support For Survivors Of Owo Massacre
A socio-political group, Yoruba Ronu Group (YRG) has called on governments, organizations, and philanthropists to rally around the families of the casualties and survivors of the massacre at St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State. INDEPENDENT reports.
In a statement presented by the group’s Director, Communications, Steve Bayode, the Chairman of the group, Prince Diran Iyantan was saddened after seeing the footage of the gruesome killing of children and women in their pool of blood. Information Guide Nigeria

In his words: “The major concern is to ensure the survival of those injured in the reckless attack by providing for their adequate medical care and follow-up on post-trauma experience that many of them will suffer later, especially, the children who survived the killing.”
Iyantan sympathized with the governor and the people of Ondo State over the loss. He commended Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for acting swiftly by returning to the state from Abuja where he had gone for the national convention of APC when the incident occurred.
The statement reads in part, “Akeredolu is a great leader who is very conscious of the welfare and security of his people. If for any reason, this action was carried out to deter him from his act of security consciousness in the State, as Ondo State is known to be a very secure and peaceful haven to do business, live and sleep with your two eyes closed. jamb results
“These murderers have failed as this will only resolve it in the governor to be more determined in his fight against bandits, criminals, and all forms of terrorism in the state.’’
