Armenia is officially known as the Republic of Armenia, and located in an area referred to as Eurasia, just between Europe and Asia.

The country has a common boundary with Turkey on the West, Azerbaijan on the East, Iran on the South, and Azerbaijan’s Naxcivan exclave on the Southwest.

English is not widely spoken in Armenia — although there are more and more road signs in Latin script, especially in Yerevan. Several taxi drivers and sales ladies in grocery stores and malls do not speak or understand English. Russian has remained the most important foreign language they recognize.
