Petroleum jelly is one of the ingredients used in the production of hair cream. Petroleum jelly is made up of purified mixture of hydrocarbon, and this mixture is called, alkane, and it is gotten from refined petrol.


It is used for the treatment of burns, and cuts, and rashes, and damaged feet, and cracked lips. It also protects against cold as well as, used as moisturizer for the purpose of blocking the trans-epidermal water loss.

Petroleum jelly also function by trapping the water under the skin. Another function of petroleum jelly in hair products is to help in seal splitting ends on strands of hair, and as well, give it some deserved shine and beauty.


Lanolin is a greasy material that is produced from the sebaceous glands of sheep wool.


It function by acting as an excellent moisturizer for the skin and hair that are dry. Other area of its function is in the area of serving as an effective water barrier, by that, I mean, it prevent further water from escaping, so it helps in holding moisture to the skin.

Paraffin Wax

Yet, another ingredient of hair products is paraffin was. It is a wax-like material, made up of a mixture of saturated hydrocarbons, and are created when they are distilled from Petroleum.

Paraffin is actually used in cosmetics, and candles polish and also in hair products. It also serves as sealing and water proofing compound. Paraffin can also be used for treatment of hand and treatment of feet.

Paraffin Oil

Paraffin oil is another ingredient used in the production of hair cream.


Paraffin oil can be used in lotions and in creams. It is also serves as emollient and it helps in sealing the moisture in the skin in order to prevent the hair or skin from drying. Please note, paraffin oil can harm the body if swallowed or inhaled. Some of the diseases caused by paraffin oil, when inhaling are:

Industrial Camphor

Industrial camphor is yet, another ingredient of hair cream with numerous therapeutic qualities, and powerful fragrance that attract its users


Industrial .camphor is used in the elimination of ache and scalp and itching. It helps in the prevention of burn and scars and cracked heel. Industrial camphor can also promotes hair growth through fortification of hair roots. It is also known for its characteristic of keeping the hair gleaming, even as it also combat hair loss.

Menthol and Peppermint

Menthol and peppermint remained yet, another ingredient of hair cream, and it is antiseptic by all standard.


It helps in the prevention of dandruff and lice in the skin and hair. More so, it is known for its usual cooling effect, which also provides immediate relief from pain and itchy scalp and fungus as well as, bacteria. Menthol and peppermint can give a refreshing sensation to the scalp.

Glycerine is another ingredient used in the production of hair products.


It helps in the prevention of breakages, especially when someone combed a de-tangling or manipulating hair that is wet.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is hair product ingredient, which has a great stimulant for capillaries growth.


When the hair capillaries are healthy and in good condition, there will be an enhancement of blood circulation in the scalp, and that will help in the promotion of strong and healthy hair. One major function of vitamin E is to help in slowing down premature ageing and as well, promote lustrous hair and prevent split ends.

Hair Products Production Process:

Put a pot that is dry and clean on heat

Put or add paraffin oil and also petroleum jelly in the pot, and allow these ingredients to dissolve and properly blend

Put or add lanolin with paraffin wax

Put or add glycerine and vitamin E

Then put off the heat and make sure that, you bring the pot down, and allow it to cool for the next 4 minutes.

Put or add menthol and peppermint and camphor and fragrance, including colourant and then, leave to cool for some time

Scoop the mixture into a sterilized container or a jar, and make sure that you cap it with tight fitting lid. Allow it to remain that way over night until all the content in the jar settle down.

At This Point:

You are through with your hair cream production, and it is ready for used.
