About WAEC

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is an examination board established by law to ascertain the examinations required in the public interest throughout English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations, and to issue certificates comparable to those issued by equivalent examining authorities around the world. With the number of examinations they have coordinated and diplomas they have granted since its founding in 1952, the council has contributed to education in Anglophonic West African countries (Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia). They also established an endorsement fund to support education in West Africa by giving lectures and providing financial assistance to people who cannot afford it.

In 1948, representatives from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, the University of London School Examinations Matriculation Council, and West African Departments of Education convened to discuss education in the region. The summit was convened to debate West Africa’s future educational strategy. Dr. George Barker Jeffery (Director of the University Of London Institute Of Education) was appointed at the meeting to visit certain West African countries in order to assess the general education level and requirements in the region. Jeffery presented a report at the end of his three-month trip to Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria (December 1949–March 1950). (since known as Jeffery report). The groups met with the governments of these countries after this report, and they agreed to establish a West African Examination Council, fully embracing Jeffery’s proposals.

How To Check WAEC Result Without Examination Number.

If you are a candidate, there is nothing wrong with asking this question. Every external exam center assigns a centre number/exam number to their candidates in order to organize all of their names in a logical manner. How To Recover Your WAEC Exam Number

1. Getting the WAEC exam number from the school you took the examination.

The simplest and quickest approach to get your WAEC examination number is to contact the school where you took the exam. All you have to do now is to:

• Pay a visit to the school where you took your WAEC.
• Notify the school administration that you have misplaced your examination number.
• If necessary, make a token payment.

2. Obtaining a WAEC examination number from a WAEC office that is accredited

Another alternative is to request for your WAEC examination number at any WAEC-accredited office. What you need to do now is to gather all of your information, including your name, seat number, the name of the school where you sat the exam, an affidavit from any Nigerian high court, and so on. Use them to demand for your examination number from any WAEC office in the location where you took your WAEC exams.

It is worth noting that you can be requested to pay a fee at the WAEC office. As a result, I recommend that you bring at least N5,000 with you just in case.

3. Using the name of your school and your seat number, you may find your WAEC exam number.

This strategy is great for you if you can recall your sit number and the name of the  center where you took your WAEC exams.

Due to the fact that your WAEC examination number is a combination of both the center number and your seat number, if you remember your seat number and the name of the school you took your WAEC examination, you could just search the name on google with an added search intent of “WAEC number” added to the school name on your search bar.

After searching, you should see your school’s  WAEC number, provided it is an accredited institution. If it is not, I would advise you to just go to your school and ask the principal for the school number, to get everything done in no time. JAMB form

All you must do after getting the numbers is just to multiply your 3-digit sit number by the school’s 7-digit center number to get your WAEC examination number. I.e. If my seat number is 011 and my center number is 4965853, my exam number will be = 4965853011. JAMB Result
