NYSC Final Clearance Letter Guidelines

To write the NYSC final clearance letter, and enjoy a hitch-free final clearance, you must adhere to the following guidelines:How to log in JAMB Portal

  1. Ensure that your NYSC final clearance letter bears the heading; “Final Clearance” or “Letter of Non-Indebtedness”. Do not use the monthly clearance heading you used in previous clearance letters.
  2. Your NYSC final letter must state clearly that you are not in any way indebted to your place of primary assignment (PPA). This expression is extremely important for a successful clearance.
  3. Ensure that your full name and state code number are correctly written on the final clearance letter.
  4. Do not use photocopies on your final clearance letter. All stamps and signatures must be original
  5. Make sure your final clearance letter is signed by your Zonal Inspector (ZI) and forwarded to your Local Government Inspector (LGI) before getting it back
  6. You are expected to come with your original identity card to collect your discharge certificate at the NYSC secretariat.WAEC result

Note: All life jackets signed by corps members must be returned to the state secretariat 48 hours before the date of certificate collection.JAMB form

How to do your NYSC Final Clearance

Your final NYSC clearance is a bit different from your usual monthly clearance. To do your final clearance, follow the procedures below:

  1. Obtain your final clearance from your PPA. The letter must have a letterhead, and must be signed with a stamp or sealed by the office.
  2. Staple your NYSC ID card to the final clearance
  3. Take the final clearance letter to your Area Inspector or Local Government Inspector to clear you
  4. Get your CDS officer or Coordinator to sign and clear you for CDS, Foundation form, and Magazine payment.
  5. After being cleared by your CDS officer, he/she will take your final clearance to Z.I (LGI) office for Z.I stamp, after which the form will be returned to you.
  6. Go for your biometrics with your final clearance. After doing your biometrics, the officer will sign and stamp your final clearance for the final biometrics.
  7. Now take your final clearance letter to the point of collecting certificate.
