Infinix Zero 3: Review, Specifications and Price

Infinix zero 3: review, specifications and price. “At Infinix Mobility, we do not think that our loyal users have to break the bank to own a smartphone with high-end specs. With Infinix ZERO 3, we are offering the latest technology in terms of hardware and software with the convenience of buying it on Jumia”. These were the words of Benjamin Jiang, the CEO of Infinix Mobility.

For sure, the Infinix zero 3 is affordable and relatively cheap for a phone with such specs.

But, whether it’s a high-end phone is still a subject of controversy among tech reviewers.

Now, let me be your guide as we unbox the features of this amazing device.

Infinix Zero 3: DESIGN

This is the latest flagship from the Infinix brand. As such a lot of thought was put into making it look and feel premium.

The Infinix Zero 3 sports a similar design as its predecessors; Infinix Zero and zero 2. However, at a size of 5.5 inches, it is a bigger device. But, still slim at a body size of 7.1mm and weight of 120g

The front of the phone is finished with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the frame is built with aluminium while the back is finished in a neatly brushed metal.

Still imitating its predecessors, the power/standby button, the volume button and microSD card slot are all placed at the right side of the frame. While the nano SIM slot is still on the left side.

At the bottom of the Infinix zero 3, you will find the microUSB port and the loudspeaker. While the headphone jack is placed at the top side of the device.

The rear cover is finished in finely brushed metal. This houses the huge 20.7MP rear camera and the LED flash at the top-left corner.

This Infinix zero 3 is available in an array of beautiful colours.

The Infinix zero 3 sure sports a decent design. But not in anyway better than the designs of the aesthetic HTC One M9 and the sleek design of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

However, performance is not determined by physical looks.

Infinix Zero 3: DISPLAY

At 5.5 inches, the Infinix zero 3 is rather a phablet. And as such guarantees users of satisfying viewing experience.

The Infinix zero 3 sports a 5.5-inch IPS full HD display with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 and a high pixel density of about 401 pixels.

All these are packaged in a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to ensure that your valuable display is always protected.

This makes it suitable for watching videos, playing games, surfing the web and working on word documents. Moreso, it is sure capable of satisfying your everyday viewing needs.

However, the rich vibrant display of the LG G4 and the punchy screen of the Samsung Galaxy S6 still beats it.

Infinix Zero 3: PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE

Under the hood, the Infinix zero 3 is packed like no other Infinix device to ensure optimal performance.

Infinix Zero 3 runs Android v5.1 (Lollipop) alongside the company’s XUI-slim

The XUI offers users an array of beautiful themes, wallpapers, fast task switching and customizability options. Also, according to the company, this new UI is energy efficient.

Internally, this device is powered by a 64 bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and supported by Mali 450-MP4 GPU.

In addition to coming with this new and powerful processor, the Infinix zero 3 is the first Infinix device to come with 3GB RAM. While there are the 16GB and 32GB internal memory options. Expandable via microSD card.

With the hood adequately packed, you would agree with me that a lot of thought was put into making the Infinix zero 3 performance-oriented.

So, whether you are playing games, watching videos, surfing the internet or switching between tasks, your Infinix zero 3 can handle it all without breaking a sweat.

Infinix Zero 3: CAMERA

This is another area where Infinix put in a lot of effort to appeal to the needs of its loyalists.

The Infinix zero 3 sports a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel secondary camera with amazing features like dual LED flash, autofocus, face detection, smart gesture, geo-tagging, Slo Mo, HDR and panorama.

However, the main feature of the huge camera is the SONY IMX230 CMOS sensor with 6P Largan lens which enables users to capture punchy photos and record 4k videos including accurate capture of fast moving objects.

The 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash is also capable of taking punchy selfies even in low light environment.

Infinix Zero 3: BATTERY

The Infinix zero 3 is powered by decent non-removable battery with standard capacity of 3030mAh. So, with Infinix zero 3, you are sure of decent battery performance.

The powerful processor, energy efficient UI as well as the power saving mode options equally ensures you get the best from the battery.

Finally, the device supports fast charging. So, refilling the battery when it runs out of juice would probably never be a problem.

Infinix Zero 3:CONNECTIVITY

On the onnectivity front, the Infinix zero 3 offers you all you can get from a high-end smartphone. Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, 3G, and microUSB port. Disappointingly, the device do not support 4G.

At the time of writing this review, the Infinix zero 3 sells for #53,500 at konga and Jumia store. This price may change over time. See current offers at konga store.

MY VERDICT

This is probably the best device ever released by Infinix. And the user interface is decent.

Despite some compromise, I think it is in a good position to compete with the big players in the industry.

Moreso, it is not as expensive to buy as most phones with similar specs.

Finally, I think I won’t be wrong to term the Infinix zero 3 a high-end device.
