  • Assist in tracking loan defaults and provide monthly reconciliations for MaBSTOA loan disbursements.
  • Compare the Actuarial Determined Contributions determined by the Plan actuaries with the employer contributions given to the Plans.
  • Compare payroll deductions and employee contributions to the Plans.
  • Maintain and reconcile the data required by the MTA Comptroller’s Office to finish the annual financial accounts of the Plans for external auditors. As required, offer the MTA Comptroller’s office assistance.
  • The Pension staff accountant must be able to recognize and report any problems with the Plans’ retiree payroll and loan accounts, problems with balancing the employer and employee contributions, and cash flow and investment administrative issues to the Deputy Directors, Assistant Comptroller, MTA Treasury, and Chief Investment Officer.

Assistant Vice President

  1. Capital planning initiatives such as the MTA’s Twenty-Year Needs Assessment for the NYCT, SIR, and MTA Bus, Long Island Rail Road, MetroNorth Rail Road, MTA Expansion, Bridges and Tunnels, MTA Inter-Agency, and MTA Police are supported.

Once a plan has been authorized, the incumbent will use the revised trip counts and/or running times to develop a new vehicle schedule, and then a crew schedule (Bus Operator work assignments). The incumbent will then combine the previous and new schedules for each day type (weekday, Saturday, and Sunday), compile a roster (containing days off and work runs/regular day off relief runs), and submit recommended pick paperwork to the Union for review.
