Nigeria police salary structure 2019

The Nigeria Police, which was formally known as the Nigerian Police Force, is a law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining peace and harmony in the country. The total number of the police force consists of about 372,000 people, but it was approved of late by the federal government that the police staff will increase to about 650,000 police officers because of the insufficient number that can’t stop all the criminal cases. The Nigeria police was established in 1930, formerly divided into two – the Northern Nigeria Police and the Southern Nigeria Police—and presently consists of 36 commands that are spread across the entire nation.

With over 2000 police stations in Nigeria, the 36 teams are classified into 12 different zones that are operated by the 7 different administrative arms. When the Nigeria Police was created, it was started by officers from Imo State. But ever since then, several arms of the Nigeria Police have been developed in due course.
