“Pay Us Compensation For Our Demolished Houses“ – Osun Protest

Residents in Ogun State has staged a protest demanding compensation for their demolished houses.

DAILY POST reports that owners of buildings demolished in Osogbo, during the last administration in Osun State have called on Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to pay their compensations.Information Guide Nigeria

According to DAILY POST, the Chairman Landlords’ Association, Oladejo Moshood disclosed that the former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola demolished their houses in order to pave way for road construction.

The association clearly stated that the former governor who promised to pay them did not pay them.

According to DAILY POST, Oladejo Moshood, “Apart from those who have died, many who are still alive are facing serious challenges with their families.

“Many have gone to borrow money from the bank and various cooperative societies to start re-building or re-constructing their destroyed buildings, as most of them and their families have no place to lay their heads.

“As I speak with you now, many houses are under construction, but the owners do not have money to complete it“.

The Osun State Commissioner for Information and Civic orientation, Funke Egbemode reacting to this called on  affected landlords and landladies to be patient with the government.

Funke Egbemode added assured them that efforts were on to ensure they got their compensation within a short period of time.Jamb Result

According to DAILY POST, the landlords affected are house owners from Olonkoro, Olorunda, Old Garage, Ajegunle, and Igbona and other areas in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
