PDP can’t win the election if I leave- Wike

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has warned that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, cannot win the presidential election in 2023 without his participation, as the party’s internal conflict worsens.

Friday, he made this statement during a press conference in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Wike added that he and four other governors play crucial roles in the PDP and that without them, the party cannot win elections.Infomation Guide Nigeria

Wike stated that he and his crew were determined to make an impact at the party.

The governors stressed that Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, and Ayu, the party’s national chairman, cannot be from the same region.

According to the governor, the PDP won a number of states because of his financial assistance.

“If I leave the party today, the PDP cannot win the election. If the five PDP governors say they are leaving today, we are not just ordinary governors, we are very committed and strong.

“There is nobody that wants to win an election and still continue the way they are doing. I have supported many states financially to win elections in the past, including Plateau, Ondo, and Cross Rivers and they cannot deny it.”
