What do I Need to Prepare for the NYSC Orientation Camp

Before you are qualified to go for the NYSC orientation camp, you must be a Nigerian graduate who studied either within or outside the country. The NYSC program is conducted in 3 batches with each batch have two streams, stream 1 and stream 2. After obtaining your Call-Up letter, you are expected to report to the NYSC orientation camp for the next 21 days, after which you will be assigned to your place of primary assignment where you’ll spend the remaining 11 months. 1. You are expected to come to the NYSC orientation camp with the following documents:
   1. Your Degree/HND Certificates or statement of resultWAEC Result

   3. 8 copies of your passport photograph. It must be a white background passport.
   4. Your NYSC Call-Up letter. (Do not laminate the Call-Up letter)

2. Purchase your complete NYSC Kit early. Most people end up with a faulty kit, or incomplete NYSC kit due to last minute rush at the camp. Make sure you purchase your complete NYSC kit on time, so you can better select the one that would fit you. Remember to purchase extra kit, even after being issued the NYSC kits. The following kits will be given to you at the camp:
   1. Two white T-shirt
   2. Two white shorts
   3. A pair of tennis shoes

3. One of the major issues at the camp is power supply. Ensure that you purchase a high capacity power bank to help keep your phone charged.
4. Rechargeable lamps are extremely at the orientation camp. Purchase good rechargeable lamps they will come in handy at the camp.
5. If you’re posted far from your place of residence, try to find other corps member going same directions. It’s always better to know at least one person. Join any NYSC group to meet prospective corps members.
6. To avoid a stressful registration process, report to the orientation camp a day before the assigned date so you can register on time when the camp opens.

What to Expect at the NYSC Orientation Camp

When you get to the NYSC orientation camp, you’ll find many security personnel present at the gate. Don’t be scared, just head in for your screening. Let’s take a look at what you should expect at the camp:

1. You will be asked to present your NYSC Call-Up letter at the gate, before you are allowed access into the camp.
2. The luggage you brought to the camp will be searched thoroughly to check if there’s any restricted items in them. After the search, you will be allowed into the camp.How to Check MTN Bonus Balance
3. The first registration process at the camp will be for hostel and bed space. The security personnel will issue you an identification tag after registration. 4. Your NYSC kit will be issued to you at the camp. To avoid it being stolen, use permanent market to write your name on it.
5. Keep in mind that casual wears are not allowed at the NYSC camp except on Sundays. That is, you are required to be on your NYSC kit at all times. You are only required to wear the NYSC khaki uniform during your swearing in ceremony, Camp POP day, and other official ceremonies.JAMB Result
6. At the NYSC camp you are expected to wake up early. The camp parade starts at 4:00 am, so you need to get up quite early to meet up the parade. Punishments will be given to corps member who fail to report for the parade on time.
