Every corps member is required to print and submit their clearance form every month. Failure to do so will attract certain sanctions including forfeiture of the NYSC monthly allowance. The NYSC clearance form is usually submitted within the first 10 days of every month. Some PPA might schedule the monthly clearance form submission on different days, if the number of corps members are large. The clearance form proves that you have not absconded from your service, and you’re eligible for the Monthly Allowance. What is the NYSC Monthly Clearance?

The NYSC monthly clearance is an official exercise conducted by the National Youth Service Corps to ensure that a Corps member did his/her work at their place of primary assignment, and is therefore qualified to receive the monthly allowance and other entitlements. In the past, there have been Ghost corps members who abscond from their place of primary assignment, hence the creation of the monthly clearance. There are two types of NYSC clearance. The Manual clearance and the Biometric clearance. The manual clearance is carried out in most parts of the country, while the biometric clearance is undergoing test in Lagos state and some other selected states across the country. However, both types of clearance will be made available on your NYSC dashboard before the end of the day.

How to Print Your NYSC Clearance Form

To print your NYSC monthly clearance form online, follow the procedures below:

  1. Visit the official NYSC portal via https://www.portal.nysc.org.ng
  2. Enter your NYSC email address and password to login to your dashboard
  3. Click on “LGA Clearance” on the dashboardJAMB Form
  4. The list of months you have taken part in the NYSC monthly clearance will be displayed along with your status, which can be either “Present” or “Absent”
  5. After carrying out your NYSC biometric clearance, your LGA Monthly clearance status will reflect on your dashboard.JAMB Result
  6. If you are yet to do your monthly clearance, then put on your complete NYSC kit (6/7 or 7/7), collect a signed clearance slip from your PPA and head to your LGI office.

Note: If you have cleared for a certain month, and you find your status for that month showing as “Absent”, immediately visit your Local Government Inspector (LGI) and lay a complain.

How to do your NYSC Final Clearance

Your final NYSC clearance is a bit different from your usual monthly clearance. To do your final clearance, follow the procedures below:WAEC Result

  1. Obtain your final clearance from your PPA. The letter must have a letter head, and must be signed with stamp or sealed from the office.
  2. Staple your NYSC ID card to the final clearanceNpower Recruitment
  3. Take the final clearance letter to your Area Inspector or Local Government Inspector to clear youHow to change Date of Birth on NIN
  4. Get your CDS officer or Coordinator to sign and clear you for CDS, Foundation form and Magazine payment.
  5. After being cleared by your CDS officer, he/she will take your final clearance to Z.I (LGI) office for Z.I stamp, after which the form will be returned to you.
  6. Go for your biometrics with your final clearance. After doing your biometrics, the officer will sign and stamp on your final clearance for the final biometrics.
  7. Now take your final clearance letter to the point of collecting certificate.

Note: To complete your final clearance, you must obtain five (5) to seven (7) stamps and signatures on your final clearance paper.
