While most of these guys may be relatively unknown to those of us not too conversant with the Information technology (IT) world, and while they may not necessarily be a Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, or a Dennis Ritchie, but they’ve all done well to improve on their skills and worked hard to see Nigeria put on the world programming map.

Recently, in 2016, a report was published by HackerRank – a California-based service that runs tests for developers around the world – where they listed out the top 50 programming countries in the world, based on a series of tests taken by programmers from each country.

In the list published by HackerRank, Nigeria came 48th in the world rankings and 3rd in Africa, behind Egypt, who sat at 42 in the world, and South Africa, at 43 in the world.

This shows that, even though the information technology (IT) industry has not grown as much in Nigeria, Nigeria programmers are still very talented in their own right.
