Reason Civil Service Laws Should Be Reviewed For Retirees – JAMB Registrar

Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB,  has called for a review of relevant civil service laws.InformationGuideNigeria

Oloyede said reviewing the civil service laws would address the lacuna over the benefits for staff who die close to their retirement age. DAILY POST reports.NYSC Portal

The JAMB boss made the appeal in Bwari area of Abuja at the retirement ceremony of 24 staff of the board.

Decrying over the present laws on retirement, Oloyede said it leaves a lacuna such that if a staff dies on the eve of his retirement, he would not be entitled to a posthumous check of retirement benefits.

Oloyede noted that the retirees have contributed enormously towards the attainment of JAMB goals.

JAMB also gifted the retiring staff cash for their meritorious service to the country during the event.

According to Oloyede, all the retirees have spent 35 years prescribed in the civil service laws, some of who commenced their services with the federal civil service in 1987.
