Remember Rivers when you assume power, Wike tells Kwankwaso

Wike said this on Monday during the opening of Mgbutanwo Internal Roads in the Emohua Local Government Area of the state, when he welcomed the presidential contender to open the project.

Wike, who referred to Kwankwaso as a “friend and brother,” stated that the presidential contender has Nigeria’s best interests in mind.JAMB portal

He stated that he and the G5 governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, now known as the “Integrity Group,” will only support what is in the party’s best interest.

“So when you win remember us, remember us in Rivers State.”

Wike stated that he was one of the few individuals to convince Kwankwaso, a former PDP member, not to leave the party because he felt Kwankwaso was an asset to the PDP in Kano State.

“I remember when I went to meet you in your house in Abuja to plead with you not to leave the party (PDP) because I knew you were an asset to the party. Even when they told me to leave you alone, I refused,” he added.JAMB Result

He also promised logistical support for Kwankwaso’s Rivers campaign.

Wike also promised on Thursday of last week to assist Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi with campaign logistics in the state.

Wike and the G5 governors have demanded the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, national chairman of the PDP, for months, arguing that northerners should not serve as both national chairman and presidential candidate.
