“A new government will be presented on Thursday,” the left-wing Frederiksen told reporters, following a narrow election victory for her Social Democrats in legislative elections on November 1.

After meeting with the leaders of Denmark’s 11 other parties in parliament, the monarch charged her with attempting to form a government in November.

Even before the election, the party stated that it aimed to govern across conventional lines.
They had to negotiate with the biggest Danish right-wing party, the Liberal Party, and the newly formed centrist party, the Moderates, founded by former Prime Minister Lars Rasmussen.

The far right has had a significant influence on Danish politics in recent decades, but three populist parties received only 14.4 percent of the vote.
According to Frederiksen, the incoming government would have “a lot of concessions, but above all, a lot of objectives.”
