Doctoral students from institutions in Africa, Latin America, and Asia are eligible to apply for the Argelander Scholarships provided by the University of Bonn. Doctoral students from the designated areas are encouraged to apply for this fellowship, which will fund research stays at Bonn (lasting anywhere from three to twelve months).

University of Bonn Argelander Scholarships | DETAILS
This funding stream is meant to strengthen and broaden relationships between academics in Bonn and their counterparts in the aforementioned locations, particularly with regard to the advancement of early-career researchers.
It is expected that the PhD candidate’s home institution will have an existing formal or informal collaboration agreement with the host institute in Bonn at the time of application submission. In this role, the Bonn, Germany, hosts are the applicants.NYSC Portal

Your application materials may be submitted in either German or English.
Eligibility Criteria
- Preference is given to international doctoral candidates pursuing a doctoral degree at a university or a research institute in Africa, Latin America or Asia.NYSC Portal
- Doctoral candidates who are already pursuing their Ph.D. at the University of Bonn are not eligible for funding.
- Recipients of funding should finish their doctorates at their home university (to avoid brain drain).
Award Benefits
- A travel allowance (depending on country of origin)
- A scholarship of € 1,500 per month (additional funds for accompanying family members: up to € 300 for a spouse and € 250 per child)
- A research expense allowance of up to € 300 per month that can be submitted to the International Office after the scholarship has been awarded. Information on applying for the allowance will be provided with your scholarship award.jamb result

How-to-Apply: The application must be submitted by a full-time professor from the University of Bonn. Up to two applications per host/professor can be considered. The doctoral candidates must submit a signed motivational letter.
