The founder of SpaceX now faces stiff competition from established players like MTN and Airtel in Nigeria’s booming telecommunications industry.

The billionaire said that, after months of negotiations, the Federal government of Nigeria had granted his company permission to operate there.

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet constellation, created by Musk, provides service to 32 countries.

An argument can be made that Nigerians would have access to not only a fast network, but also low-latency broadband, which has been designed to handle a large amount of data quickly and efficiently.

The company’s team visited Nigeria in May of last year, which led to this licence.

The NCC states that the validity of an International Gateway licence is good for ten years, whereas an Internet Service Provider licence is good for five years. Each permit is valid beginning in May of 2022 and can be renewed once it has run its course.Jamb Result
