BREAKING: Nigeria may face Arms Embargo over EndSARS Massacre
The Federal Government of Nigeria may face an Arms Embargo from the United States Government due to the killing of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos by Military Personnel in October, 2020.
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, the Lagos Panel which was set by the government of Lagos State to investigate the killings at the Lekki Tollgate, confirmed that protesters were shot during the protest.

The United States, the United Kingdom, the United Nations and Amnesty International have called on the Nigerian government to ensure that the panel’s report is handled transparently. Information Guide Nigeria
As reported by PUNCH, the Nigerian military and its current use of arms are subject to the Leahy vetting which is an American rights law that prohibits the United States government from providing military assistance to foreign security force units that violate human rights with impunity.
Recall that Nigeria had earlier been placed on an arms embargo and this prevented the country from effectively pursuing the war against terror during the administration of the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan.
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, the arm embargo was lifted during the administration of Donald Trump to enhance the sale of Military jets to Nigeria.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the United States Government has warned that the arms and the soldiers being trained would be subject to Leahy vetting. Following this announcement, military assistance could be discontinued if there is a violation of human rights. Jamb Result
