How to change date of birth after NYSC Registration

Did you successfully register for the NYSC program, only to find out that you inputted a wrong date of birth during the registration process? We are all humans, and as such, mistakes are bound to happen. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its protective corps members (PCs) can now correct any mistake or error in their date of birth made during the registration process.Information Guide Nigeria

As you may already know, the NYSC board exempts all graduates above the age of 30 years from taking part in the NYSC program. Graduates who exceed 30 years will be given a Certificate of Exemption which is equivalent to the NYSC Discharge Certificate. Having an incorrect date of birth on your NYSC portal may land you in some undesirable conditions. But that won’t be the case for you, because in today’s guide, I’ll be showing you how to correct your date of birth on NYSC portal.

How to change your Date of Birth on NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uses information gotten from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to effect changes on the NYSC portal. Hence, to correct your date of birth on NYSC portal, follow the procedures below:JAMB Result

  • Step 1: Purchase the West African Examination Council (WAEC) result check PIN from any First bank branch close to you
  • Step 2: Go to the official NYSC portal via portal.nysc.org.ng
  • Step 3: Login to your NYSC dashboard using your email and password
  • Step 4: Navigate to “Resume Registration” and click on it
  • Step 5: Now select the “Change Date of Birth” option
  • Step 6: After clicking on change date of birth, a form will be displayed on the screen.
  • Step 7: Fill the form displayed on the screen correctly, then submit your entries.

After submitting your entries, the date of birth on your WAEC profile will be imported into your NYSC profile. Hence, if you have a wrong date of birth on your WAEC certificate, you’ll need to change it first before carrying out the above procedures.

How to Change your Date of Birth on WAEC

Follow the procedures below to change the date of birth on your WAEC certificate;

  • Step 1: Visit any WAEC state or zonal office near you
  • Step 2: Apply for correction of Date of BirthHow to Check MTN Bonus Balance
  • Step 3: You will be given a list of requirements to bring which includes; an attestation letter, sworn affidavit, original WAEC result, original birth certificate, and N10,000 processing fee.
  • Step 4: The WAEC certificate must be equal or more than 4years at the time of your graduation.JAMB Form
  • Step 5: The names on your WAEC certificate and your NYSC dashboard must be the same
  • Step 6: Once your request has been processed by the WAEC board, visit the NYSC portal and carry out the procedures outlined in the first guide

Note: After completion of your National Service, there shall be no correction of Date of Birth on your Certificate of National Service (CNS). The NYSC board will not entertain any request for the correction of Date of birth after deployment.
