The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is saddling with the responsibility of making sure that, as a professional organization, every year, it conducts professional certificate examination, as well as, diploma examination for the purpose of producing professionals in the practice of public relations.

1. Promotes And Develops Public Relations In Nigeria

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is an apex body that regulates the activities and behaviours of the public relations practitioners in Nigeria.

The organization, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has so much functions to perform in order to attain its goals, and one of such functions is in the area of promoting public relations in Nigeria, as well as, making sure that public relations in Nigeria is also developed.

This aspect of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is very important because, without which, the profession, public relations would not be developed or promoted in Nigeria.

Therefore, it is a major function of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations to develop and promote its profession in the country.

2. Establishes And Prescribes And Observes Standards Of Practitioners

Going by this however, it is the function of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations to ensure that it makes provisions for facilities for the executive to meet and discuss perhaps, regularly.

It is also the function of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations to always advise the executive, and possibly creates opportunities, such that will encourage the executive to meet often and discuss matters that will help them realize their aims and objectives. And it is a must aspect of function that the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations must perform.

I have said earlier that, uncertified professionals, or those, who are yet to be registered with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations are not allowed to practice public relations until they are certified.
