How to Print WAEC GCE original certificate Online

This guide is applicable to only candidates who registered privately and not as school candidates.

The Electronic Certificate Management System (e-CertMan) is a new program provisioned by WAEC to enable individuals to access their original certificates online and in a downloadable format. This program was designed to automate and facilitate the issuance of certificates to persons who sat for the WASSCE for Private Candidates.

This initiative came into realization after numerous and subsequent requests from candidates concerning the bureaucratic nature of the collection of those certificates. These applications are now made to proceed from an application stage through a pickup stage. The previous process mandated that candidates must obtain their certificates from the WAEC Zonal/Branch offices in the region where they wrote their examination. To access these files, the candidate would be required to make a payment for the services. All status information involved would be handled directly through the portal. The certificate collection fee stipulated by the Council is four thousand seven hundred naira only [4,700]. This payment can be made with multiple certified bank branches, straight through the portal using online banking systems, USSD code, and Debit Card Operations  [Visa, Mastercard, and Verve card].

  • Applications can be made online through https://certrequest.waec.ng. or https://certrequest.waec.ng/Check-Status
  • After clicking on the above links, type in your WAEC GCE registration number in the tab provided for it
  • Pay for the service online
  • Once the payment has been processed, click on Request Original certificate/Result
  • Complete the process

Should in case the website is unavailable or temporarily down, if it is a matter of urgency, the candidate should consider collecting the certificates physically at the WAEC office in the state where the examination was written.

You would need the following to collect the results physically;

  • One passport photo
  • Photocard
  • A printout of the result
  • N5,000 cash (payable to the WAEC accounting staff) WAEC result

You may have incurred extra charges if your certificates have stayed for more than four years in the WAEC office. This is known as ‘Custody fee”.

After this request has been made, candidates can now collect the certificate within 48 hours from the time of the request. JAMB form

  • Candidate’s full name (as used in the examination)
  • Date and Year of Examination
  • Candidate’s Index Number
  • Candidate’s Date of Birth

  • Candidate’s primary/active Email Address
  • A valid means of identification JAMB result
