Mirtha started using hard drugs at a tender age. She met George Jung, who was a drug smuggler in the late 1970s. They met each other through drug contacts in Columbia and after a few years, they got married on March 22, 1977.

However, their union didn’t last long due to their lifestyle of drug addiction and dealing. Their marriage went through many substance abuse problems which eventually led to their divorce in 1984.
