Cost of Tuition

While tuition fees are the same for both EU and non-EU students, Tuition fees in Switzerland are remarkably low despite it being one of the most prestigious study-abroad destinations. At most public universities, the annual tuition fee for international students is between £650 and £1,000. Admission Process

After filling out the necessary university application forms (usually online), Swiss universities accept the following admission qualifications or their equivalents:

  • For master’s degree in computer science: A bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus a CV and statement of purpose.

Student Visa Process

You will need a Type D student visa to study in Switzerland. You can only make an application once you have received a letter of admission from a recognized university in Switzerland. Processing time for student visas takes anywhere from 6 months prior to when you are to start your study in Switzerland. It takes around 8-10 weeks to process your student visa. Below are the list of requirements you will need to submit at the local Swiss embassy in your home country for the processing of your student visa:

  • Letter of admission from an accredited university in Switzerland
  • Birth certificate
  • Passport photographs
  • passport (with a validity of at least six months)
  • Evidence of financial sufficiency to cover your stay in Switzerland (19,200 EUR each year)
  • Clean police report
  • Proof of round-trip flight ticket
